Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next 24 to 48 hours. The alert indicates the possibility of intense showers accompanied by gusty winds, which may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas, traffic congestion, and temporary disruptions to public transport.
According to IMD officials, the rainfall activity is linked to changing weather patterns over the Konkan coast. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious, especially during peak travel hours, and avoid unnecessary movement during periods of heavy rain. Motorists are urged to drive carefully due to reduced visibility and slippery roads
