Police investigations revealed that the murder was premeditated, with the accused carefully planning the act to steal gold ornaments. The brutal nature of the crime led to strong anger among local residents. Acting swiftly, the police solved the case and arrested all the accused involved within 48 hours. Authorities produced them before the court, and further investigation is underway.

A major political controversy erupted in Maharashtra after Shiv Pratishthan Hindustan founder Sambhaji Bhide allegedly made extremely derogatory comments about veteran leader Sharad Pawar. Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah arrived in Pune on Friday (April 11, 2025) evening amid simmering tensions within the ruling Mahayuti alliance over the unresolved guardian ministership of the Raigad district. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received Mr. Shah upon his arrival On Saturday, Mr. Shah is scheduled to visit the Raigad Fort, where he will pay floral tributes at the memorial of Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He will then head to Sutarwadi for a lunch meeting at the residence of NCP state president and Raigad MP Sunil Tatkare. The invitation was personally extended by Mr. Tatkare and accepted by Mr. Shah  

NAVI MUMBAI: Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Raigad on Wednesday. While the first accident was a collision of a speeding tempo and a tanker, resulting in one death, the second was the death of a pedestrian after being hit by a motorcycle. Two road accident deaths in one day in Raigad According to the police, the first incident occurred on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway near the Patalganga River bridge on Wednesday afternoon when a speeding tempo attempted to overtake a tanker. “The tempo rammed into the tanker from the right side, causing the tanker to overturn from the bridge,” said Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Pawar, adding that both the vehicles were extensively damaged. While the driver of the tempo, Ahmed Mulas Haider Alam, a resident of Kailasgad in Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur district, and the driver of the tanker, Mohan Vitthal Chakshan, from Bhunki in Kolhapur, sustained minor injuries, the tempo’s cleaner, Rajkumar Ramsharan Yadav, sustained fatal head injuries after striking rocks on the riverbank and died on the spot. The Khalapur police issued a notice of appearance to the tempo driver and registered a case under Sections 106(1) (causing death by negligence), 125(a and b) (deal with causing hurt or grievous hurt through acts endangering life or personal safety) and 281 (rash or negligent driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as well as Section 184 (dangerous driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act.  

Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next 24 to 48 hours. The alert indicates the possibility of intense showers accompanied by gusty winds, which may lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas, traffic congestion, and temporary disruptions to public transport. According to IMD officials, the rainfall activity is linked to changing weather patterns over the Konkan coast. Citizens have been advised to remain cautious, especially during peak travel hours, and avoid unnecessary movement during periods of heavy rain. Motorists are urged to drive carefully due to reduced visibility and slippery roads
